Week 18 – #3 An Expression of Love

3 An Expression of Love 3 An Expression of Love-2 3 An Expression of Love-3The Manatee Horse Show has a number of talented young horse people.  Yes, I called them young, and they are not all kids.  They show expressions of love towards their horses and I could fill a year with all of those photos.  The shows are held the first Sunday of the month at the Manatee Equestrian Center on Lena Rd.  Here are just three from this year’s shows.  It is so refreshing to see these young people taking the time to get know their horses and how to work with them with care and love.  The lessons learned in dedication to this sport, the empathy towards their animals and each other, carries over into the rest of their lives.

Week 15 – # 22 In the Trees

22 - in the trees Walking around on Jekyll Island, Georgia, I came across this bench that looked out over the marsh.  It was set back in the trees with all the Spanish Moss hanging down. Lonely bench.  I thought it fit the theme – in the trees.

Week 14 – #46 The Color Pink

46 - Color Pink 46 - Color Pink-2 46 - Color Pink-3 46 - Color Pink-4 46 - Color Pink-5October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and the Circle S Rodeo in Myakka held their bull riding competition with the proceeds going to Breast Cancer.  As you can see, a number of cowboys were Tuff Enough to wear Pink and ride the bulls and some of the spectators were decked out in Pink as well – as you see the little girl in the last photo. Last year, the cowboys even donned pink bras.  But none were seen this year.  Too bad as that was quite a site last year.  I think the pink shirts are PINK enough, though.
