Is that sweat coming off of the rider? Gary

I wish I could take panning shots as good as this one.

Ahh Thank you Mary Nell. Actually panning of a horse and rider are not well done because of the up and down movement and panning only accounts for the forward motion. A lot depends on the gait of the horse. This one is only a so-so panning in my opinion, but it is the first with my new Sony.

  3. Nicely done, Sue. That’s a technique I struggle with.

  4. definitely speed — well done!

  5. Nicely done. Panning is hard but this looks great.

Looks like lots of fun. It’s hard to find great opportunities to pan. Well done!

Thank you. I suggest you go over by the Manatee hospital to the skate park. You can sit on. One of the bridge supports and practice with the children skating back and forth. Since they are only moving on a horizontal plane you can get a clear panning image. Horse and rider are more difficult because they also add a vertical movement making panning difficult.

  7. Great how you have got the background and the horse showing movement and the rider still pretty sharp. Brilliant!
